Mushroom pages for every age
- Toddlers and preschool: the simple toadstool, the cute mushroom with a face and three little mushrooms, which also works for practicing big, middle and small.
- Story lovers: the mushroom house, the frog under a mushroom and the woodland tea party.
- Teens and adults: the cottagecore basket, the forest floor and the mushroom mandala take longer and look lovely in earthy colors.
How to color a toadstool
The classic red and white mushroom is called a fly agaric. Color the cap red, darker at the top and lighter at the edge, and leave the spots white. Use cream or pale gray on the stem, then add green moss around the base. For a cozier cottagecore look, swap the red for rust, mustard and olive.
Nature study, and a safety note
Our real mushroom shapes page shows nine different forms, like a morel and a puffball. Kids can look them up and label them. Please remember that these pages are for fun, not for identifying mushrooms. Teach kids to look with their eyes only, because some wild mushrooms can make you very sick.

Tips for Coloring Mushrooms
- Leave the spots white. Color around them, and red caps will pop like a real toadstool.
- Shade the cap. Go darker at the top and lighter at the rim to make it look round.
- Try fall colors. Rust, mustard, olive and cream give a cozy cottagecore look.
- Add moss. Green dots and squiggles at the base make any mushroom look at home.
