Printable Paper Dolls

By The Color Page Team · Updated · 2 sets

Every paper doll here comes with its own wardrobe that you color, cut out and fold on. The clothes in each set are drawn for the dolls in that set, so the tabs always land in the right place.

Start with a themed set, like cozy winter coats and Christmas pajamas, or print the blank paper doll template and let kids design their own clothes. Everything is black-and-white line art, so kids choose the colors, hair and skin tone themselves. Print a single page or the whole set as one PDF on US Letter or A4.

Tips for paper dolls

  • Print at actual size. In the print dialog choose "Actual size" or "100%", not "Fit to page", so every outfit still fits the doll.
  • Use card stock for the doll and plain paper for the clothes. A sturdy doll stands up better; thin clothes fold more easily over it.
  • Color before you cut. Pieces are much easier to color while they are still on the sheet.
  • Kids may need an adult's help with scissors, especially around the small tabs.
  • Keep a wardrobe envelope. A zip bag or an envelope taped inside a folder stops small pieces from getting lost.

Questions

Are these paper dolls free?
Yes. Every paper doll set and template is free to print for home and classroom use.
Do the clothes fit the dolls?
Yes. The clothes in each set are drawn for the dolls in that set, with tabs that fold neatly into place.
What paper should I use?
Plain printer paper works. For a doll that lasts, print the doll page on card stock (65–110 lb) and the clothes on regular paper.
How do the tabs work?
Each outfit has small white tabs on the shoulders and sides. Cut around the tabs, then fold them back behind the doll to hold the outfit in place.
What age are paper dolls for?
Coloring and dressing up works from about age 4; cutting the tabs neatly is easier from age 6, or with a grown-up's help.
